Ajayi Crowther University (ACU) Gets Medical Equipment Donation

In preparation towards establishing a Medical School, in addition to its several academic programmes, Ajayi Crowther University (ACU), Oyo got a major boost.

The family of late Prof. Segun Banjo of Ijebu Anglican Diocese donated valuable medical equipment to the faith-based institution.

The late Segun Banjo, was a professor of Anatomy and a staunch member of the Cathedral Church of Our Saviour, Ita-Olowajoda, Ijasi, Ijebu-Ode.

This celebrated scientist of repute being a researcher had invested substantially in medical equipment, leaving behind several medical assets including a cadaver.

The Lord Bishop of Ijebu Anglican Diocese, The Rt. Re'd Dr. Peter Rotimi Oludipe who was represented by Rev'd Tosin Ogunbiyi appreciated the widow of the late scientist, Mrs. Ngosika Lois Iwunze Banjo for the decision of the family to bequeath the medical property to ACU noting that the best way to immmortalize the memory and legacy of Prof. Segun banjo was to give out the medical equipment to where they could be well utilized.

Mrs Banjo who chronicled the life and times of the world renowned researcher hinted that Prof. Banjo believed so much in research, hence, his passion for acquisition of different medical appurtenances worth several millions of Naira. The cadaver she said is of a 6.6ft tall Uganda woman, who willed her body to Prof. Banjo for medical research purpose.

Earlier in his remarks, ACU VIce Chancellor, Prof. Timothy Abiodun Adebayo had expressed profound appreciation to the Diocese and the family of Late Prof banjo for the valuable benefaction, stating that the equipment would go a long way in the proposed Medical School coming up very soon in the university. Prof. Adebayo who was represented by his Deputy, Prof. Benjamin Olumuyiwa Popoola promised that ACU would immmortalize the legacy of Prof. Banjo with the way the donated equipment would be used. 

On the ACU team was also Ven. Dr. Peter Oyebanjo, a lecturer from the department of religious studies.
